Surface Cleaners - Expert Power Wash

Surface Cleaners

High quality commercial surface cleaners. We highly recommend Whisper Wash for the top of the line and BE for middle of the road. The biggest issue contractors have with surface cleaners is finding the right tips and properly setting up their equipment. Clogged tips can also be a common problem. We recommend a pick set to unclog tips in the field. Give us a call, our team of Experts are happy to help get you dialed in.

Choosing a pressure washer surface cleaner

A surface cleaner is the single biggest production upgrade for anyone doing flatwork. A wand cleans in stripes and takes hours; a surface cleaner cleans in even passes and takes a fraction of the time, with none of the zebra striping that gets you a callback.

Size it to your machine, not your ambition

This is the mistake we see most. An oversized cleaner on an undersized machine spins slowly, cleans unevenly, and leaves arcs. The cleaner has to be fed.

5 to 5.5 GPM19 to 20 inchLarger residential and light commercial flatwork

What we stock and why

Whisper Wash for contractors who want the best-built cleaner available, including the Classic 19 inch, Extreme Duty versions with stainless ends, the Mini Mondo and the larger Mondo Force. BE Whirl-A-Way as the dependable value option, in 16 and 20 inch with or without casters. Centurion as a third option. We also stock the parts, because a surface cleaner is a maintenance item, not a purchase.

If you are only buying one, the Whisper Wash Classic 19 inch is the one we put on our own builds.

The parts that wear

Swivels and cartridges are the wear items, followed by nozzles and the spray bar. A cleaner that has started leaving stripes usually needs a cartridge or new nozzles, not replacing. We carry Whisper Wash parts and BE Whirl-A-Way parts on the shelf.

Getting even results

Keep the deck flat and move at a steady pace with consistent overlap. Degrease before you clean - a surface cleaner removes what is loose, it does not dissolve grease. And check nozzle wear when results start dropping off; worn nozzles change the spray pattern before they fail outright.

Common questions

What size surface cleaner do I need for my pressure washer?

Match it to flow. 4 to 4.2 GPM runs a 16 inch cleaner properly, 5 to 5.5 GPM opens up 19 to 20 inch, and 8 GPM and above is where 24 inch and larger cleaners work as intended. An oversized cleaner on a small machine spins slowly and leaves arcs.

Why is my surface cleaner leaving stripes?

Usually worn nozzles, a failing swivel cartridge, or moving too fast with too little overlap. Nozzles change spray pattern as they wear long before they fail outright, so they are the first thing to check. Cartridges and nozzle bars are replaceable.

Whisper Wash or BE Whirl-A-Way?

Whisper Wash is the heavier-built option and the one most full-time flatwork contractors settle on. BE Whirl-A-Way is a dependable, lower-cost cleaner that suits mixed-service companies doing flatwork a few times a week. Both are supported with parts on our shelf.

Do I still need chemical if I am using a surface cleaner?

Yes, for anything organic or greasy. A surface cleaner removes what water and pressure can lift. Grease needs a degreaser and dwell time, and organic staining needs sodium hypochlorite. The cleaner makes the rinse fast and even, it does not replace the chemistry.

Do surface cleaners work on anything other than concrete?

They work well on concrete and most hard flatwork. Be careful on pavers, where they can pull joint sand, and avoid them on wood and any soft or coated surface where the flow and rotation will mark it.
